    But the *selection* of Paul Ryan is fascinating. I’m trying to decide if it means that Romney has lost his mind, if he has given up on actually winning the election, or if there’s some deeper mystery that hasn’t yet occurred to me. Perhaps he thinks the Democratic base is so disheartened that he’ll have an easy time getting more Republicans to the polls, despite having given those who are seriously disillusioned with the President the opportunity to vote *against* Romney/Ryan instead of voting *for* Obama/Biden. [Wanders off, shaking his head in perplexity.]
